Time, smoking and drinking tea and coffee are just a few things that cause your teeth to yellow and discolour. Whitening is a bit like a facial in that it helps unlock pores in your teeth so that stains are gently removed, leaving teeth cleaner and brighter.
Whitening can take years off your appearance. Custom made bleaching trays (very thin clear gum shield) are made using impressions taken of your teeth. This can then be worn at night for about 3 weeks, together with some peroxide gel your Dentist will give you. Photographs of your teeth are taken before and after to record the results. Whitening is perfectly safe and non invasive, thus no damage is done to the teeth.
Its never too late to correct crooked teeth, spaces or teeth that stick out. These can all decrease your self confidence. You can choose from the latest orthodontic techniques.
Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position. They can be removed for eating and brushing.
The Inman Aligner is a cutting edge procedure which can straighten front teeth in a fraction of the time of conventional orthodontics. The Inman Aligner is a removable appliance that provides continual gentle pressure which quickly aligns crowded front teeth. The initial treatment can be completed in 8-12 weeks. As it is removable it can also be removed for eating and brushing.
Patients worried about the stigma attached to wearing metal fixed braces during adulthood can now benefit from aesthetic white coloured braces. Cfast reduces treatment time to around 6 months by concentrating only on straightening teeth that are visible when smiling. It uses clear brackets and tooth coloured wires to provide a more aesthetically pleasing method of moving teeth.
Our tooth replacement service includes implants, dentures and bridges. Before considering tooth replacement you will undergo a full consultation and recommendation by our specialists as to the best course of action to take.
Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth. The implant which is made of titanium is fitted in the bone where the tooth would normally be. A crown can then be attached to the implant to replace the missing tooth.
The teeth either side of the gap are prepared for crowns. These are joined together by a false tooth within the space.
This is a plate with a number of false teeth on it. They can be made of plastic or a mixture of plastic and metal. Unlike implants and Bridges these are not permanently fixed in the mouth. They have to be removed at night and to clean.
Your gums form the foundations for your teeth and looking after them is paramount to your oral health. A dental hygienist is a registered dental care professional who is specially trained in preventative dental care.
Their main role is to professionally clean your teeth and show you the best way to keep your mouth healthy and free from gum disease. They may give advice on diet to prevent dental decay and suggest ways on stopping smoking. We strongly believe in a preventative approach to oral health and we encourage regular hygienist visits. Each patient is treated as an individual, so your appointment will be tailored to your needs and concerns. These may vary from a gum health assessment, professional cleaning, advice on homecare products, dietary advice, smoking cessation and any bad breath issues.
Cosmetic dentistry can be anything from changing an unsightly metal filling to radically changing your smile. We can improve your smile by making teeth look younger (teeth whitening), Straightening crooked teeth (Orthodontics) or permanently replacing missing teeth (Implants & Bridges). Modern developments in dental materials offer patients reliable and comfortable alternatives to metal based materials.
The metal smile is history. We now have tooth coloured filling materials that look like teeth. In one visit the old mercury amalgam can be replaced. If you are worried about the release of Mercury vapour, we can do this under a protective rubber barrier (rubber dam) to stop you breathing the vapour.
Crowns, commonly know as caps completely cover a weak tooth and protect it. Crowns are made of metal, porcelain or a combination of both. A bridge is made where there is a missing tooth. Crowns are made either side of the space, joined together by a false tooth within the space. Crowns and bridges are made by hand in the laboratory and glued in place in the mouth.
Dental veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their colour, shape, size, or length.
One of the most effective ways to improve your appearance and look younger is to smooth out lines and wrinkles with the use of botox and fillers.
To smooth forehead wrinkles (frown lines) we use a substance called Botulinum toxin (Botox). This can also be used to smooth lines around the eyes crowns feet). Botox has been used safely and effectively for many years in cosmetics and general medicine. Botox is injected into facial muscles in very tiny amounts. It works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the facial muscles. This makes the muscles less active and so softens and smoothens the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

“Being very anti dentist due to some bad experiences when I was younger, I certainly wasn't looking forward to the treatment I needed. However, Rooban was very good at putting me at ease, and carried out the work needed without any discomfort. I now have no problem in turning up for my six monthly check up!”
"Came in today after many years of being terrified of the dentist. I was getting aches in my jaw etc so thought I should bite the bullet as it were. Couldn't be more impressed with the service and care I received -thank you!!"
